In honor of IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) week students will engage in inclusive activities throughout the week to support our similarities and differences and celebrate how unique we all are!

The School Leadership Team plays a significant role in creating a structure for school-based decision making and shaping the path to a collaborative school culture.

The School Leadership Team functions as the management team of the school, representing the educational community. ​

We are partnering with Maquis studios on a combination of visual arts, dance and music. Drop off at 9:30 am. Parents are invited back at 11:30 am for lunch following the workshop with the students.

Our P.S. 596X and P.S. 176X father's club meets monthly on Wednesday evenings to allow fathers to come together to socialize, support each other, unwind and meet some new friends. Our meetings are always interesting and productive. We discuss issues which are important to us and network in order to learn from and help each other. ​

Throughout the months of March and April, your child will be reading The Wind May Blow by Sasha Quinton and Thomas Hegbrook. This story encourages resilience in the face of challenges, reminding children they are strong enough to overcome difficulties. We invite you into your child’s classroom on Friday, March 6, 2026, to complete a creative activity based around this book.

 Parents must bring identification.

Please join us for an assembly to celebrate Holi. 

This show will feature the Anja Dance group as we celebrate the Hindu festival of lights with singing and dancing. ​​​

Parents: Please bring identification and arrive early to go through a security scanning.​

Students will be dismissed at 11:30am, on Thursday, March 12, 2026. Please check with your child's bus driver for a more accurate time.

Parent Teacher conferences will be conducted remotely,

however you may request in person meeting, on another day/time.

Your child's teacher will provide you with additional information.

​​​School will not be in session for students on Friday, March 20, 2026 for Eid-Al-Fitr.

This will be an interactive and fun opportunity for siblings of P596X students to come together to learn, connect and reflect. This event is designed for parents, siblings and P596X students. Each group will have an opportunity to connect separately and the join back together for lunch.
