ANTI-BULLYING PUPPET SHOW

Friday, October 29, 2021 - 10am

You are invited to a virtual Anti-bullying “Puppet Show” on Friday, October 29th @ 10 am. In conjunction with our Social and Emotional curriculum, Rethink – throughout October, students at 596x have been learning about the importance of being a good friend, cultures around the world and celebrating differences.

ELECTION DAY - ASYCNHRONOUS LEARNING DAY

Tuesday, November 2, 2021

Election day will be an asynchronous learning day for all students. Students will learn remotely using their DOE issued iPad and Google Classroom.

P596X invites your child to come to school with their Halloween Costume on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at 10am. This year’s theme will be, “Book Character Halloween”. 

PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES

Parent-Teacher conferences will be conducted remotely, however you may request in person meeting, at a mutually agreed time during the day/evening. Your child’s teacher will provide you with additional information.

Week of October 25, 2021

This week's photos feature class X15 at our 178 site! To celebrate Halloween, the students in the class decorated their own pumpkin and added Jack-o-lantern faces. On Thursday, October 28th the students will participate in the Halloween parade and will celebrate with their teacher, paraprofessionals and classmates!

Welcome to P.S. 596X! We are a New York City Public School serving students on the autism spectrum and other special needs from Pre-K through age 11.

 

Through this website, you will be able to step into our classrooms and hallways to get an idea of the wide variety of creative programs and practices in which students participate on a daily basis.

Our commitment is to provide the highest quality, state of the art instructional programs to our students, and to offer parents workshops and activities to equip themselves with the skills to best help their child. Through hands-on learning and fun-filled opportunities, our students make tremendous gains in social skills, language, and academics.
