photo of the week
Week of February 2, 2026
This week's photos feature classes Y65, X24 and V20 from our 153 site at the Jewish Museum! On Thursday, December 18, 2025, students went to the Jewish museum as part of an art partnership.
The partnership included three visits to our school by a teaching artist. Our students then visited the museum for the last day of the partnership.
The students enjoyed taking part in this educational and hands-on art partnership.

Former P596X student Joliah Ceda drew and created our school logo.
WELCOME
Welcome to P.S. 596X! We are a district 75 New York City Public School serving students on the autism spectrum and other special needs from Pre-K through age 11 in three co-located sites: 11X178, 11X153 and 11X498.
Through this website, you will be able to step into our classrooms and hallways to get an idea of the wide variety of creative programs and practices in which students participate on a daily basis.
Our commitment is to provide the highest quality, state of the art instructional programs to our students, and to offer parents workshops and activities to equip themselves with the skills to best help their child. Through hands-on learning and fun-filled opportunities, our students make tremendous gains in social skills, language, and academics.
