photo of the week

Week of November 10, 2025

This week's photos feature Digital Citizenship Week at our 178, 153 and 498 sites.

P596X celebrated digital citizenship week from October 13th through 17th in computer science class by participating in fun and engaging interactive lessons. The activities included media balance, online safety, cyberbullying, digital footprints, and how to tell if information is reliable—all through fun, interactive lessons and themed Spirit Week activities. Families can continue the learning at home by completing the activities by visiting: https://bit.ly/42X3vO0

WELCOME

Welcome to P.S. 596X! We are a district 75 New York City Public School serving students on the autism spectrum and other special needs from Pre-K through age 11 in three co-located sites: 11X178, 11X153 and 11X498.

Through this website, you will be able to step into our classrooms and hallways to get an idea of the wide variety of creative programs and practices in which students participate on a daily basis.

Our commitment is to provide the highest quality, state of the art instructional programs to our students, and to offer parents workshops and activities to equip themselves with the skills to best help their child. Through hands-on learning and fun-filled opportunities, our students make tremendous gains in social skills, language, and academics.
